Another Brewery Closes 😭

I have been dreading writing this eulogy for yet another fallen brewery. We have discussed the demise of Tallgrass here and here, and even the closure of Two Hats, which will still never be missed. Unfortunately there is some more bad news in the craft beer front.

Rock and Run brewing in Liberty has closed its doors. They had a beer liquidation sale over the weekend, I was unable to attend, but per their facebook page they had some great beer specials. There is speculation on reddit about the cause of the closing. According to the Courier-Tribune, the owners could not discuss the reason for the closure. So it remains another Unsolved Mystery, and I am going to let Robert Stack can get to the bottom of this.

I was very shocked at the news of their closure. Every time I stopped in for a beer the place was always busy, and almost every liquor store in the Northland had their beers stocked. It seems like only yesterday we were blogging about their grand opening and getting lifetime memberships to their mug club. Luckily I have a few of their beers in my beer fridge and a couple of stickers left to keep the memory alive. I will commend the owners for dealing with their fair share of adversity, and still keeping the brewery alive. How many breweries do you know that were able to reopen after part of their building collapsed?

Farewell Rock and Run. KCBeerblog and the Northland will miss your beer and pizza. Hopefully we will see the Saminator and Riley Porter resurrected as a guest tap some day.

Cheers,
Brett A. Myces
