Rock & Run Brewery to Open December 18th

Rock & Run Brewery and Pub has been hard at work building out their operation out in Liberty, MO. The now have an official opening date of December 18th. I had the opportunity to try their beer during the KC Nanobrew festival this earlier year - and I was very impressed. I tasted a couple of their IPAs, and they were very clean but had plenty of character. I would highly recommend anyone in the Kansas City area get out there and try their fare once they are open.

They plan to have 10 house beers on tap as well as 30 other craft brand taps - something I always appreciate. They'll be serving wood-fired pizza and a full menu alongside their beers, so you can make the excuse and take the whole family to get out and have a few their beers.

With places like Rock & Run as well Martin City Brewery beginning their operations in the near future, the local Kansas City beer scene gets more exciting everyday. We'll let you know when we get over there, and we'll give you our verdict.

LIBERTY, Mo. -- Rock & Run Brewery, Liberty, Missouri’s first brewpub, announced today that they have an anticipated opening date of December 18th, 2013. The brewpub’s owners, Dan Hatcher and Gene DeClue, are finalizing construction and are in the process of hiring and training staff for the new restaurant in downtown Liberty.

Rock & Run Brewery is located at 110 E. Kansas St. in Liberty, Missouri in a 100-plus year old building just off the historic Liberty square. The east side of the building used to house a bar known as Shelby’s. The west side has been everything from an alley to more recently a garage.

The brewpub will house a fully functional brewhouse and will offer 10 beers that are made in-house as well as 30 taps of craft beer from around the United States. The centerpiece of the kitchen is a wood-fired pizza oven. In addition to pizza, the brewpub will offer options such as locally-produced sausage and bratwurst, sandwiches, pastas, salads, and a kids menu.

The owners of Rock and Run Brewery have embraced sustainability in their architectural design. The bar itself is constructed of various architectural elements salvaged from the remodeling of the old building. The bar top and tables have been crafted from old bowling lanes purchased from a bowling alley in Harrisonville.

The brewpub’s name, Rock & Run Brewery and Pub, comes from the passions of the two owners. Gene DeClue has been a full time musician for twenty years and is currently the bass player in the band Cherry Bomb. Dan Hatcher is a long distance runner with a passion for trail and ultra-marathon running.
