Short Pours - 5/31/13

There are often bits of news that are worth sharing, but may not warrant an entire dedicated post. So, I decided to create a new series called 'Short Pours', in which I'll periodically compile some of the recent important notes on releases, events and news around town. Here's the latest:

Boulevard cleaning house

Everyone comes to that occasional realization that their home is full of a bunch of crap they don't need. Breweries, apparently, are no different. Boulevard needs to do a little tidying up, so on Saturday, June 1st from 10am - 4pm, they are holding a 'garage sale' at the brewery. Tap handles, signs, and all kinds of other memorabilia and collector's items will be on sale. Plus, free samples of beer will be available for shoppers, and part of the proceeds will benefit victims of the Oklahoma tornado. Click here for event details on Facebook.

Big Rip back open

After a successful grand opening weekend that diminished their beer supply, Big Rip will be at it again this weekend, and with a new Milk Stout to try. You can head in today from 11am - 10pm, Saturday from noon-10pm and Sunday from noon-4pm.

Enjoy By 07.04.13 headed to Missouri

A third round of Stone's uber-fresh Enjoy By IPA, 07.04.13, will start hitting shelves in Kansas City around 6/3. As usual, when the beer hits, vote for KC to continue receiving by tweeting out #EnjoyBy #MO and going to stonebrewing.com/enjoyby.

New Barley's hiring

The new Barley's Brewhaus location that will be opening in Leawood (135th and Nall, next to Bonefish Grill) is looking for experienced servers and bartenders. If you or anyone you know has experience (and preferably beer knowledge, speaking as a customer), they are holding open interviews today until 6pm and again tomorrow from 10am to 2pm.

Cinder Block growth continues

North Kansas City's Cinder Block Brewery posted a picture on Facebook announcing the shipment of their brewhouse equipment, which is expected to arrive this weekend. A great sign of progress for the brewery, which is expected to open to the public in Fall of 2013.
