A Doozy of a tap takeover

This Friday, May 10th, Lew's is taking advantage of their recently expanded draft system by hosting a Mother's Brewing Company tap takeover. The event will feature year rounders Three Blind Mice and Lil' Helper, seasonals Sandy and Spring Batch, and the latest addition to the 'Mother's Others' lineup; Doozy Double IPA. Beers are getting tapped first thing in the morning, so if you just can't wait to try their new offering, go grab yourself a lunch beer.

If you haven't heard about Doozy yet, Mother's essentially, for lack of a better word, assaulted the beer with Citra hops during the brewing process. Hopped at 5 different stages (see below for a nice visual representation of this ridiculousness), Doozy ends up at 9% ABV and 80 IBUs. The tap takeover at Lew's is actually the first time anyone will be able to try this beer in Kansas City, as it doesn't hit retail until next week.

In addition to trying Mother's new Double IPA, the tap takeover will also present an opportunity to take a trip to Mother's Brewing Company on Central States Beverage's dime. You've surely seen Central States posting on Facebook and tweeting about the 'Bus to Mother's', which is, well, literally a bus that will be traveling down to Springfield and carting a lucky group of Kansas Citians along for the ride to take a tour of the brewery.

There will be a Mother's Brewing Company display at Lew's, and in order to enter the contest, you need to take a creative picture in front of it and share on the Central States Facebook page or tweet the photo, tagging @csbev. Central States will be selecting their favorites, and those winners will earn a spot on the Bus to Mother's. Good luck to all who enter!
