Won't somebody PLEASE drink for the children?!

Although none of us particularly need justification for drinking large quantities of beer, Waldo Pizza and Stone Brewing Company are co-sponsoring an event that can help you feel good about your drinking.

Stone has generously donated a keg of Stone IPA to Waldo Pizza, and all proceeds from the keg will go to Gillis, a local organization that helps at-risk children and families via education, counseling and social services. Gillis is the oldest not-for-profit organization of its type in the Kansas City metro, and offers residential care, special needs education and support for emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and their families.

The keg has been tapped today, so you can go in now and grab a pint to help support Gillis. On Wednesday, August 22nd at 6 pm in the Tap Room at Waldo Pizza, representatives from Gillis and Stone will be hanging out to chat and answer any questions you have.

Gillis is also always in need of school supplies, so if you have anything that your kids didn't use for school, or happen to be swinging by the store, considering grabbing something and bringing it by as well. Some specific items that they can use include:

• crayon buckets
• crayons
• dictionaries
• eraser caps
• erasers
• pencil cases
• pencil bags
• pencil grips
• pencils
• tape
• white glue
• construction paper
• water color paints
• squeeze paint
• poster board
• highlighters
• calculators
• compasses
• glue sticks
• index dividers
• labels (packages)
• markers
• paints-tubes/small bottles
• paperclips
• dry erase markers
• blue pens
• black pens
• red pens
• permanent markers
• pocket folders
• rulers
• school boxes
• scissors
• backpacks

So stop by Waldo Pizza and grab a pint to support a great local organization that does a lot for local kids and families in need. There's no specific cutoff date for this event, just whenever the keg runs out. Cheers!
