Douches and Alcoholics

Now the douches and alcoholics have someplace to go on Thursday nights and leave the rest of the bars in town for all the rest of us.

Before you get all huffy and write mean things to me, just think to yourself, "do I order Bud Light in the bottle when I go out?". If you do you're a douche, start working on that, then you can address my faults.

  1. I hate to be a smart ass, and I am NOT a douche, but you might want to spell check the word alcoholic.

  2. Oops, I was holding a baby while typing that out. I should also add the word regularly to "do I order Bud Light in the bottle when I go out?".

  3. Gotta agree with you on this. Though McFadden's is an ok place for those without striped shirts to grab a draft beer... before 5pm.

  4. You sir are doing a great service for man. For those who drink and enjoy good beer I thank you.

  5. You are so right to judge. But here's what puzzles me about this place:
    1) The name McFadden's and the use of green makes me think it is an Irish bar. Right? Ask for a recommendation on the best Irish specialty to order from the menu and you will be directed to the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. Excellent! Order an Irish Whiskey and watch confusion and delay that ensues!
    2) It is called a Sports Saloon - what makes it that? TV's above the bar turned to only sports channels makes it exactly like every other regular bar I have ever been into. Waitresses and bar maids wearing half shirts, cheerleader skirts and tube socks makes it Hooters meets Avril Levine. Not Sporty Spice! She at least had the good sense to wear 70's inspired track suits, sports bra and trainers. She could pass for someone about to play a sport!
    3) I missed the part where they are supposed to be an exclusive trendy dance club . . .the CIA wanna-be's outside providing security, the bouncers checking ID's at the door (gimme a break) and what's up with the DJ dressed like Justin Timberland and playing 70's and 80's music.

I am too old to get it! Just go to their website . . .it tells you how confused it is, much better than I could:

  6. Took an out of town guest to McFadden's about a month ago. Big mistake. Lousy service (on a Monday night) and cold food. Here's what really irritates me.... simply because of location, the place will be successful. No need to make an effort, because they will cash in as a result of the Sprint Center. Too bad. Finally get a "destination" in downtown, and it's a bunch of lousy themed, chain bars (think the Cheers bar at KCI). Hopefully, the smaller places can hang on until the honeymoon is over.
