Perennial Coming to KCMO

In two weeks, the celebrated beers of Perennial Artisan Ales will arrive here in Kansas City.  Opened in September of 2011, Perennial specializes in small batch, large format offerings of a wide variety of beer styles.  Founder Phil Wymore worked for Goose Island for several years, then helped open Half Acre before starting his own brewery with his wife Emily in St. Louis.  Perennial produces three year round beers: Hommelbier, a Dry Hopped Belgian Style Pale Ale brewed with Pacific Northwest hops, Saison de Lis, a Belgian Style Saison brewed with Chamomile Flowers, and their latest addition, Aria, a Belgian Style Pale Ale bottle conditioned with Brettanomyces.  The brewery releases its beers in 750ml bottles as well as kegs.

Of course, few things get us more excited than limited and seasonal beers and Perennial's release calendar plays right into that trend: the brewery puts out a new seasonal EVERY MONTH.  Not enough for you?  Visit the Perennial tasting room where Phil and the gang release a new beer every Thursday.  2013 seasonals come in two forms, the In Season releases which feature seasonally available ingredients and include beers like Black Walnut Dunkel, a Dunkelweizen brewed with Missouri Black Walnuts or Peach Berliner Weisse, a lightly tart wheat beer made with Missouri and Illinois peaches.  Perennial's Cellar offerings focus on bigger, more age-worthy bottles and include beers like Heart of Gold, a Wheatwine that won a Silver medal at the GABF in 2012 and Fantastic Voyage, an Imperial Milk Stout brewed with Coconuts.

To better introduce you to Perennial's products, events have been scheduled at bars and liquor stores around Kansas City.  Several limited release beers will be featured in addition to the three year round beers. Here are the details:
