Happy Amber Day

Boulevard Amber is finally upon us... sort of. Today is June 1st, the day bottles of Amber should start showing up in 12-pack Boulevard samplers. If you'd prefer getting your Amber on draft you'll need to drive up to Omaha or Lincoln. Nebraska should be getting their kegs today as well, there is no word on when we'll see Amber on tap in Kansas City. I've heard the reason behind this is that Omaha drinks a lot more amber beer than KC does, so if you really really really want Boulevard to throw some kegs our way you might have to start buying a lot more Fat Tire...

Boulevard gave me a couple bottles of their new Amber last week, here's what I thought of them. I'm looking forward to getting a pint of Boulevard Amber on draft at some point this summer, hopefully that means I won't have to drive all the way up to Omaha.

If you spot Boulevard's new Amber in the wild be sure to let us know in the comments below.

  1. It was one of the fan favorites (and few bright spots) during the KC Beerfail a couple of weeks ago.

  4. Bad marketing on the part of the home team. Release it in up Bugtussle, sure, but release it in KC at the same time. I'm not too happy about this, they just moved way, way down my 'give a damn' list.

  5. "Omaha drinks more Amber beer than KC" Well since we can't buy it and they can, there's a stat that's likely to stay skewed.

  6. I looked in the new shipment of sample packs and they are not in there yet. I have had it on tap at the brewery, it was pretty good.

  7. They are allready selling the sampler packs with amber in them in Kansas. Not Missouri you have 800 more cases before you will see them in Missouri.

  8. Does anyone know if this will be the "seasonal selection" in the variety pack, or is it taking the place of another beer?

  9. I finally found some Amber Ale at my local Price Chopper. It has taken the place of Lunar Ale in the variety pack. One has to wonder if they plan to phase out the Lunar Ale...

  10. FYI - Blvd Amber Ale is available in six packs here in KC, as of this week. The one I'm drinking came from Missie's Discount Liquor in Shawnee. Good hunting!
