2014 KC Nanobrew Festival

The KC Nanobrew Festival is this weekend and is OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT! After a month of beer festivals around town its time to celebrate all things homebrew. For those smart enough to get a ticket you will get to enjoy 110 unique beers out of a 16oz glass with food provided for Rock and Run Brewery and Pub. The festival has an even larger space this year so plenty of room to move around and socialize which makes for a fun and enjoyable event.

This year the festival will take place near the Liberty Square and across the street from Rock and Run Brewery and Pub. For those coming across the river. There is an official bus service to this years festival. A few seats remain for this service. http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/726548

Click through for my recommendations:

Go find Dave at divergent ales and get some Sly Fox IPA. I was over at a beer tasting one night where we had probably every top commercial IPA in the country on the table, Pliny the Elder, Heady Topper, Toppling Goliath, Hill Farmstead, and several others. Dave's Sly Fox IPA was my favorite from the night and that's no bull shit. He's always winning medals for his IPAs.

Find Big Jon from Morman Brewing he will have some more cherry limeade skeeterpee which was the huge hit at Parkville, but I'm excited to try the Reese's Pieces Stout. Jon always makes fun and unique beers.

Go say hi to KC Beer Scouts. I've never had any of James beers but his Imperial Pecan-Brown Aged on Oak sounds like one I need to try.

Go meet Chris Roberts and the rest of his family behind Red Crow Brewing. Red Crow is planning on brewery in Johnson County and makes great beer. His Belgium Blonde is one of my favorites.

Go find the fancy tent with the best dressed guys in homebrewing, Phillip and Zach are the guys behind Bourgmont Brewing which is another brewery in planning

Go find the ripped dude with the awesome Firefighter Helmet. Michael from Eye for an Eye will have some of his award winning Belgian Golden Strong.

Go give the Lady brewers some love Annette from Shoal Valley Brewing Co. She always makes some tasty brews.

Go have some beers from the official sponsors of the KC Nanobrew Festival: Rock and Run Brewery and Pub - Saminator? Yes Please

Cinder Block Brewery - Excited to try Hop Maven #2

Red Crow Brewing Co - Belgian Blonde is superb.

Grains and Taps (Flight Risk) - Harbor Freight Drill Blue Smoke?? Genius Marketing.

Apex Brew Wares - Jeremy is solely responsible for introducing the KC Homebrewing Community to Skeeterpee, this is a good thing.

Brew Lab - Looking forward to Choose Your Nector - Berliner Weisse

Lots of new homebrewers to try. Looking forward to trying a Kentucky Common by Weeping Angel Brewing and Heady the Elder by Outlook Brewing Co. Black American Wheat by NEMO Nano sounds really interesting too.

After you have tried everyone come see me, SchuBrew. I like to always bring something controversial and this year created Liquid BBQ. It's cool not gross.

Finally give a big high five and a round of Thank yous to Frank (Bad Cat Brewing), Chad (Moats Brewing Co.), Rob (Supernatural Brews), Chad (Stuck Truck Brews), and Tim (Probably working the gate). These guys are responsible for the festival and have worked so hard to grow and keep this festival going. Without these guys this festival would never happen. Thank you!

What beer are you looking forward to try?
