Happy Mardi Gras Kansas City! What better way to celebrate Fat Tuesday than heading up to All Star Pizza tonight and tackling some of the highest ABV beers you'll ever see on tap. Looking for something more sessionable? Try a Tallgrass Firkin at Lakeside Tavern. This looks to be another great week for draft beer in KC as we have 10 events listed for this week alone. We still have a long way to go, but the Weekly Bar Buzz has come a long way in a short time. Thanks to everyone who has reached out to us to help share information about local beer events, we couldn't do it without you. Tuesday 2/21

All Star Pizza - 6pm - Avery Angels and Demons Night: We will feature The Beast, Samaels, Mephistopheles, The Reverend, Hog Heaven, and Salvation all on tap. Bottles of Avery Rumpkin will be available as well. We will be raffling the rights to purchase a bottle. We have 72 Avery Genua glasses to sell (one per person), and with each glass you buy you get a raffle ticket. We will pull four every 30 minutes to start off. We will start selling the glasses at 6pm. There will be tons of goodies we're raffling off too.
Lakeside Tavern - Tallgrass Firkin Night: Celebrate Mardi Gras with a firkin of Tallgrass Halcyon Wheat plus "cool prizes".

Barley's Brewhaus (OP) - 7pm - Tallgrass 8 Bit Pale Ale Release Party: This Thursday we will have Tallgrass' new Pale Ale, a raffle, and its pint night, so the first beer ordered the guest will be able to keep the pint. A Brewer from Tallgrass will be in attendance to answer questions.
The Flying Saucer - 7pm - Rare Beer Night: Mikkeller Red and White Wine Barrel-aged Black Hole Imperial Stout

Friday 2/24

Boulevard Brewing - 11:30am - VIP Tour and Luncheon: Secure your spot for an exclusive VIP tour and luncheon with Boulevard’s brewmaster, Steven Pauwels, and the Beer Kitchen as they share their inspired pairings. The tour will begin from our Tasting Room promptly at 11:30am with the meal concluding at approximately 1:30 pm. Tickets for this event, which include the tour and three-course lunch, are $42 each including tax.

Riverside Red X - 5 to 7pm - Craft Beer Tasting Event

Barley's Brewhaus (Shawnee)- 4:30pm - Firkin Friday: featuring Tallgrass' Blushing Hop Cone, an IPA with Strawberry and Vanilla and dry hopped with Cascades. $4 a pint and the first 40 get to keep their pint glass.

Abe and Jake's Landing - Kansas Craft Brewers Expo: The Kansas Craft Brewers Guild and Downtown Lawrence are collaborating for the inaugural Kansas Craft Brewers Exposition on Saturday afternoon, March 3rd. Craft breweries large and small from around the region will be showcasing their beers at Abe & Jake's Landing at the Riverfront in Lawrence. In addition to the opportunity to sample scores of beers, there will be food, music, t-shirts and glassware, and informational and educational displays.
