Ciders at The Foundry

When Stella went to Hop Fest, she discovered the ciders from Crispin and Fox Barrel. This was pretty much the highlight of Hop Fest for her. I rarely, if ever, drink a cider, there's just too many beers to try. But, I enjoy them for the most part and I really appreciate what Crispin is doing to expand the category a little bit. On that note, they're having an event at The Foundry tomorrow night (Tuesday the 23rd) starting at 4. They'll have 2 rare ciders, the Crispin Joan of Arc and the Fox Barrel Maid of Orleans (apple and pear ciders respectively, aged in Sauvignon Blanc barrels) as well as the basic Crispin Apple and Fox Barrel Pear ciders on tap. Flights of all 4 or snifters and tasters of each will be available.

If you're interested in trying some good ciders this is the event for you. A flight of all 4 for $12 will get you a pretty good feel for ciders and maybe you'll become a fan.

  1. The Saucer did this last Thursday.

  2. You should try some home brewed cider this year. If you call ahead, you can get carboys filled with fresh pressed apple juice from the Louisberg Cider Mill. Just add yeast nutrient and a nice beer or wine yeast and let it go to it. It couldn't be easier.
