  1. Pretty decent selection. Having KBS here is kind of a shame though. Not sure I'd want to stand out in the muggy 90+ degree heat drinking KBS, but whatever... Good to see some limited releases here like Schlafly Christmas (I'm guessing this is the Culinaria Christmas?), Samael and The Beast on tap (assuming everything is a keg, right?) and the rare Boulevards. Good stuff, you're getting what you pay for. $30 isn't cheap to stand in the sun and drink beer but hopefully the price will deter the KC Beer Fest crowd from showing up and starting fist fights or pissing off the top of an buildings.

  2. I doubt everything is keg. If so that would be real cool. Also, do you know which beers are for the VIPs only. If all of these are available for the $30, than I take back what I said about it being too expensive. As long as the fest isn't too crowded and too hot this should be a good one.

  3. The selection of beers at Hopfest will be both bottle and keg. Due to limited keg storage space the bulk will be in bottles with a mixture of kegs. This allows The Well and Lew's to be able to store the beer that is not depeleted at the end of the event. This many partial kegs would never fit in the accounts.

  4. Has it reached the point that we're complaining about having access to KBS? Really?

I've had most of these, but this list is pretty impressive on breadth alone. I'm keeping the faith that sufficient quantities will be supplied to keep everyone reasonably happy.

  5. Yeah, so is special releases aka VIP?

  6. I believe 5 of the special releases will be available from 12-1 for the VIP's. If I were to guess which those would be, I would guess the 2 Boulevards, FW 14, Schlafly 80 Schilling and Avery Samael, but that is just a guess.

  7. Hopfest 2011 update...

The VIP Session will have every beer available prior to opening. This includes all special release beers on the Central States Facebook page. This will give a WHOLE new meaning to VIP. If you have a GA ticket make sure you get there early, once the special releases are gone, they are gone! As well The Boulevard Dry Hopped IPA happens to be Boulevard Smokestack Double Wide Dry Hopped IPA!
