Fall is Here and so is Bob's 47

It's a relatively cool morning, especially for August so it's fitting that delivery trucks are being loaded with Boulevard Bob's 47 to hit liquor store shelves today thru the rest of the week. If you're lucky enough to find some tonight, you will be able to drink it tomorrow on the most fall like day in several months.

As always, help out your fellow beer travelers and point out where you found some in the comments section. I know this is one of the most anticipated Boulevard release dates each year so you'll be helping out many people find them some Bob's.

  1. Am I the only one who doesn't think that Bob's 47 is all that?

  2. No doubletalk here, Bob.

I think it's a decent beer, but it's not good enough that I've ever bought a six-pack of it. It's fine. It's definitely more to my liking than Zon.

  3. Got some in the variety 12-pack at Rimann's in Lenexa.

  4. I think Bob's might be the most divisive of Boulevard seasonals. It's many people's favorite and many people's least favorite. I didn't like it for many years then gave it another shot and loved it. I don't know if my taste changed or they changed it, but now I'm looking forward to my first one.

  6. Does everyone generally agree that ZON is the worst thing in the Boulevard line-up

  7. I think everyone except beer judges. Zon has one many medals for its style. But, I'm not a fan.

  8. "won" not "one". That misspelling was so egregious I couldn't let it stand. I apologize profusely for my carelessness.

  9. I'm not sure I have had Zon, it doesn't have lavender in it like Two Jokers does it? Not a fan.

I'm a beer judge and Bully! is my favorite (non-hedonistic).

Bobs is pretty good though, maybe my favorite seasonal, Nutcracker is good too.

  10. Indeed. I think we (or most) can all agree that Zon is pretty awful. Tastes like the sweat off a lemon.

Dig the Irish Ale, my favorite Blvd seasonal. Nutcracker is OK for a winter beer, one of those 4 or 5 days out of the year when I'm in the mood for a winter brew (my least favorite type of seasonal).

  12. Lukas Liquors in OP has it -- of course, if they don't have it, it ain't booze.

  16. Bob's 47 was my favorite Boulevard brew up through 2007. I bought it by the case. But in 2008, when Boulevard changed the recipe and started marketing it as an "Oktoberfest", it became just another seasonal. A single six-pack will probably be enough for me now.

  17. Bob's is soooo much better on tap. Try it on tap if you haven't. And yes, ZON is my least favorite.
