Fritz and Ken Hit KC

The first of Sierra Nevada's 30th Anniversary collaborations, the Fritz and Ken Ale has hit KC. Apparently KC only got 8 cases, Gomer's Midtown has one of them. From the label
Fritz Maytag, owner of San Francisco’s Anchor Brewing Company, is regarded as the founding father of the craft brewing movement. Frtiz agreed to guest brew this very special ale with us in honor of our 30th anniversary. As a nod to the dark ales and stouts that seduced both Fritz and Ken in the early years, we bring you this pioneering stout, a rich and roasted ale, perfect for aging, and worthy of your finest snifter.
This is the one I'm most excited about and I'm breaking one of my rules. I'm posting this before I'm sure I can secure myself a bottle or 3. You can be assured I'll be working the phones trying to find some this afternoon. It's not going to last long. Help me out and leave a comment to help your fellow beer travelers find out where to get some.

Update: This isn't available in KS yet. When it is another 9 cases will be available for the KC area on the KS side.

  1. I grabbed one of these from Gomer's Midtown last Thursday when it came in (along with a Goose Island Night Stalker). The bottle looks as elegant as the Sierra30 website (http://sierra30.com/#/home).

  2. I didn't know they came in Thursday. I've seen no chatter on this one at all. I may just have to break down and get to midtown. I'd like to get the Night Stalker too.

  3. It wasn't out on shelves yet but they grabbed one from the back for me. Gomer's South or Lukas at 135th might have it as well if that's any closer for you.

  4. Gomer's midtown has 4 left, one per person.

  5. Royal had three on the shelf, in a space that would have held six so I don't know if their other half case is still in the back, I didn't ask. I did buy 2 and leave 1.

Royal also still has tons of dark truth and collaboration 1.

  6. Just picked up 2 at Red X Riverside. Probably a dozen there. $10.99 for a bomber.

    No Dark Truth though...

  9. I got mine this morning at Gomer's south. And yes, I was there at 9:30 in the morning. Had to ask for it, they're holding it back in the office.

  10. I picked up a bottle in North Carolina in early March--and shared it with a friend celebrating his 30th Birthday last weekend. It was a very rich sipping beer; could be even better with aging.
