Frambozen

This year's batch of New Belgium's Frambozen has finally reached my lips. I scored some at the Gomer's in midtown. I also picked up a couple of Southern Tier beers that I look forward to trying this weekend. I've never had one of their brews before.

But, for now, I'm just going to savor my Frambozen's raspberry goodness.

  1. I had their Pumking this year, the first of Southern Tier's I've had. It's not bad, but not my favorite pumpkin ale (too sweet, like many).

We picked up a bottle of their Cuvee One this week and plan to try it soon. I've heard great things about this brewery - which ones did you get? I'm looking forward to hearing about them.

  2. I was in Buffalo, NY for a few days in 2006 and had a Southern Tier. I forget what it was, but it didn't seem like anything special to me, although I've heard good things. I picked up a 6 of Frambozen recently, too, and was very pleasantly surprised. I've been into sour beers lately and I was expecting something sweet with this. Boy, was I surprised! The raspberry is very evident, but it has a lot of tartness, too, so it's almost like they took a sour beer and added a touch of raspberry flavoring. It's great! I hope they start canning this like they have Fat Tire! lol

On that note, have you found Fat Tire in cans anywhere? The only place I have seen it is at the Gomer's near Westport.
