KC Bier Co - Grand Opening February 11th

This is a very exciting week in Kansas City for the beer community - we're officially adding two more breweries to our growing scene.

The first of these is Kansas City Bier Company - Steve Holle's expedition into bringing traditional German style beers back into the spotlight - I'm betting you've already heard of it. While they ran across some complications while getting situation that eventually turned into some delays, they're finally ready to open their doors.

There will be 5 beer styles on tap come Tuesday - Hefeweizen, Weizenbock, Dunkel, Helles, and Double Alt. From what I've been hearing, they are some really respectable beers. I'm a sucker for a good Weizenbock, I'm excited to be able to enjoy one made in our own city.

They've got snacks in the taproom themed accordingly with their German influence and will eventually have a family-friendly "garten" area built outside next to the Trolley Trail. Currently they do growler fills and intend to soon have kegs being sent out to area establishments. The brew house is a 30bbl system with 8 fermenters that hold 60bbl batches, which makes KCBC the same size as Mother's Brewing out of Springfield.

They officially open to the public at 4pm on Tuesday, February 11th in Waldo at 310 W. 79th St - just off Wornall. We'll see you down there.
