Short Pours - 3/6/14

Oskar Blues Officially Lands in KS on 3/10

All of Oskar Blues' year-round line up will be available come Monday - you'll be able to pick up Dale's Pale Ale, Mama's Little Yella Pils, and Old Chub as well as Deviant Dale's IPA, G.Knight Imperial Red IPA, and GUBNA. I'm a huge fan of Deviant Dale's, so I'll see you in Kansas. The full press release is available on BeerPulse.

Boulevard Announces New Sample Pack Beers

Two new tasting room beers are headed our way for spring. The sample twelve pack that currently has the Westside Rye and Midcoast IPA will be replaced with Boulevard's ESB and Ginger-Lemon Radler. If you're not acquainted with what a radler is, it's a blend of beer and citrus flavored soda - it makes for easy summer drinking. A favorite of mine is Stiegl's Grapefruit Radler that are out in there in great looking white and orange cans. This sample pack will find it's way onto shelves in May.

Remedy Tapping North Coast Old Stock Ale Cellar Reserve

Out in Waldo hides a very under appreciated beer spot that not many talk about, Remedy. They will be tapping North Coast Oldstock Ale Cellar Reserve and North Coast 25th Anniversary on Friday, two great beers. If you haven't been to Remedy I recommend stopping by, the food is terrific and the tap list keeps up with it. Representatives from North Coast will also be on-site.

Big Rip's Snake Saturday Kegs & Eggs

On Saturday 3/15, Big Rip will be tapping their new Mint Chocolate Milk Stout before the parade as well as serving up biscuits and gravy. It's an all day event that starts at 8am, but you can join in at anytime. Full details are available on the Big Rip site.

Westport Ale House to Open Friday

The building that used to house Streetside Records on Broadway will re-open Friday as Westport Ale House, an "upscale sports lounge", so I'm not sure if this actually beer news since they don't mention anything directly in that manner. It's great that the building is being re purposed, let's hope they've a decent tap list and atmosphere. You can read more about it on the Star's website.

  1. I wish Boulevards sampler pack would include 4 Pale Ales, 4 Wheats, and 2 of each of the Tasting Room beers. I don't really want 4 Wheats, and 4 Hoppy Wheats. Not a big fan of the Hoppy Wheats.

  2. Odell's chocolate milk stout is different from Lugene?

  3. When and where will Oskar Blues be doing a meet and greet, and drink great beer, session(s)?

  4. Gr8fulTed....I was just in The Other Place in Olathe. They said they were going to have reps in on March 24th. Not sure about any other events.

  5. @gra8fulted

Odell's Chocolate Milk Stout is Lugene, I rushed to get that list together.
