Central States recently announced that they had been nominated for the Craft Beer Distributor of the Year Award, which is presented by the National Beer Wholesalers Association and the Brewers Association. Though nominees aren't voted on by the general public, Central States is encouraging Kansas Citians to make noise through social media and help the NBWA and BA recognize the great work they have done locally. If you want to help, head over to Twitter and craft a tweet to @NBWABeer or @BrewersAssoc with the hashtag #CBDOTY, and let them know that you want to see Central States (@csbev) win the award.
4 Hands Event at Waldo Pizza
I never know what officially constitutes a tap takeover, but Waldo Pizza is holding an event tomorrow night that will feature 4 Hands Brewing beers on four of their taps, plus four bottles to choose from as well. Taps will include Cast Iron Oatmeal Brown, Prunus Cherry Saison, Single Speed Session Ale, and most importantly, Ruby Red Prussia Berliner Weisse, which is a grapefruit version of their standard Berliner Weisse. Available bottles will include Contact High, Divided Sky, Pyrus and Reprise. Nick from the brewery will be on hand, and there will be a limited number of free 4 Hands mason jars being given out to those who order a Single Speed. Things kick off at 7pm in the Tap Room.
New Belgium Bike Ride and Tap Invasion
Bier Station is bringing back the New Belgium Bike Ride and Tap Invasion this Thursday, with the beers getting tapped at 5pm and the ride starting at 5:30pm. Beers being tapped include Yuzu Imperial Berliner Weisse, Prickly Pear Saison, Pumpkick, Abbey, and Tripel. You'll also have the chance to win a New Belgium cycling jersey by signing up for the 9th Annual AIDS Bike Cruise.
