Tallgrass Tuesdays at Riot Room

Recently, Tallgrass has made a name for itself around town by presenting a variety of interpretations of their beer through firkin events. Whether it was their Buffalo Sweat Stout with Coconut and Cocoa Nibs or watermelon Halcyon, they've presented a number of opportunities to try their beer infused, Randalled and flavored with a variety of ingredients.

The Tallgrass creativity will now continue on a regular basis now as Riot Room has started a new weekly series of events called Tallgrass Tuesdays. Last week, they infused Tallgrass Buffalo Sweat with pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla bean and ancho chile. This week, you can look forward to tasting Halcyon infused with grapefruit and clove. And looking ahead to next week, Tuesday 11/27 will highlight Velvet Rooster infused with blackberry, lemon peel, wormwod and honey comb.

Now, some of you might be saying "But trying to drink at Riot Room is a pain because there's always a concert going on and a cover charge!" And I would have said the same thing too. But, luckily, the good people at Tallgrass and Riot Room have worked to recognize the needs of local beer drinkers and are offering free cover to those who just want to drink with the use of a password. Yep, you read that right; a password. If you want to head to Riot Room this week and try the grapefruit and clove Halcyon, give them the password 'LOBSTER' at the door and you are in.

Keep an eye on the calendar for details on future Tallgrass Tuesday events, and make sure to head down there to give these unique creations a try. The beer starts flowing at 6pm.

  1. A huge THANK YOU to Riot Room & Tallgrass for doing the special Tuesday beers, and for the password approach. I was just talking to someone this past weekend about how it sucks that you have to pay $10+ just to go to riot room to drink beer, even if you don't care about who's playing. I think they're one of the best beer bars in town in terms of selection (especially Schlafly beers), and yet I rarely go specifically due to the cover charge. Great solution!
